Helen Taraviras Zambus, RN

La Derma Founder and Clinical Director

Helen is a registered nurse and member of the College of Registered Nurses of BC since 1998, the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the Dermatology Nurses Association. She is also a licensed aesthetician with over 20 years experience in the skin care industry, and a member of the Beauty Council. She is passionate about helping others achieve their healthiest, most vibrant appearance possible.

When the field of aesthetic medicine was newly-emerging, Helen quickly realized that this area was a perfect mix for her skills, interests and abilities. She combined her nursing credentials with her years of aesthetics experience, and worked alongside one of the foremost pioneers in the industry, Dr. Alastair Carruthers, for 10 years.

During that time she performed various laser, light, radio frequency and other energy-based treatments, consulted with patients on appropriate aesthetic treatments and/or surgical options, administered therapeutic Botox, and assisted in surgeries such as tumescent liposuction, S-lift, ear lobe repair, hair transplantation and others. She has also participated in several clinical trials in both independent and blind evaluator roles.

She brings her invaluable experience, enthusiasm and professional skills to the La Derma team.

Dr. Spiro Polyhronopoulos

Spiro Polyhronopoulos has been a physician for over 20 years. He is a clinical instructor for the University of British Columbia, Department of Family Practice, a Certified Family Physician (CCFP, FCFP) with further Certification in Emergency Medicine (CCFP-EM) and additional Certification (CIME) by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners (ABIME).

Through his work as an Independent Medical Examiner, Spiro recognized that in order for his patients to heal both physically and psychologically, a holistic approach involving various Health Professionals often needs to be coordinated. This understanding led him to joining the Canadian Association of Aesthetic Medicine (CAAM) and later assuming the responsibility of Medical Director at La Derma.

Spiro brings with him a wealth of knowledge, education and expertise to the La Derma team!

Renata Licha

Renata Licha is a European Esthetician with over 20 years of experience in the skin care industry. She started her own practice/salon in Europe and spent time as a Medical Esthetician for many cosmetic companies in Europe.

Renata has extensive experience with microdermabrasion and chemical peels, micro-needling, photo-rejuvenation, fractional laser, hair removal, skin-tightening and acne treatments. She is always finding ways to make her clients feel special and better about themselves. Renata always strives to help clients find solutions to all their skin care problems with positive and healthy rejuvenating outcomes.
