Alumier™ MD Chemical Peels

Slough away dead skin cell

The Renew 30
The gentlest and most hydrating of Alumier™’s peels, this 30% lactic acid formula effectively loosens dead skin cells to reveal brighter, plumper, more even- toned skin. A great choice for first-timers or clients with sensitive skin.
Combining 20% glycolic acid for deeper exfoliation and 10% lactic acid for brightening and hydration, this AHA peel is a great choice for normal/combination skin that requires a balanced treatment.
The BHA 20
Using 20% salicylic acid, this peel is formulated for oily, acneic or congested skin. Oil-soluble and anti-inflammatory, salicylic acid penetrates the pore lining to exfoliate trapped sebum and debris, while reducing redness.
Salicylic acid, lactic acid and resorcinol come together in a 7% formula to treat a host of skin concerns. Deeply penetrating but very tolerable, resorcinol aids the action of the acids in clearing sebaceous problems and rejuvenating the epidermis. A popular choice for fans of the Jessner-type peel who need controlled peeling and comfortable down-time.
Alumier™ MD Chemical Peels Vancouver Frequently Asked Questions
Can every skin type have an Alumier™ MD peel?
La Derma’s range of Alumier™ MD peels aims to treat various imbalances in every skin tone, type and texture. After a thorough consultation, your aesthetician will choose your peel according to its ingredients and apply it in layers depending your skin’s immediate responses. The peel will be neutralized at exactly the right time to avoid over-exfoliation. Clients with particular skin disorders will be advised if an Alumier™ MD peel is beneficial for them, or if a different approach, like IPL or homecare, would be more suitable.
Do I need to prepare my skin in any way for the peel?
Cease use of any products that contain retinoids (eg Retin-A, Tazorac, retinol), high percentages of vitamin C, or any AHAs or BHAs at least 7 days prior to treatment. Do not have skin treatments of any kind for at least 7 days prior to treatment.
What does an Alumier™ MD Peel feel like?
Upon application of the peel, clients report a feeling of warmth and tingling that peaks and then dissipates within a couple minutes. The entire treatment is easily tolerable and precisely timed. Once the peel is neutralized, a soothing medicated moisturizer is applied to calm and rebalance the skin. Lastly, an SPF 30 is applied to protect your skin from UV damage.
Can I wear make-up and use my regular creams afterward?
To ensure gentle cleansing, hydration and sun protection, La Derma provides a free kit of Alumier™ MD post-care cleanser, moisturizer and SPF to use in the days immediately following the peel. Light day makeup can be worn if necessary. No products containing retinoids (eg Retin-A, Tazora, retinol) should be used for at least 7 days after the peel. Do not have skin treatments of any kind for at least 7 days after the peel.
How many peels will I need?
This will depend on your skin type, tone and texture. A single peel makes for a nice skin prep for an event, but for best results, a course of 4-6 peels is recommended. Your aesthetican will advise you at consultation what approach is best for you.
